Winjit Completed 4 Projects using Tally 9 SDK
Winjit, completes sucessfull implementation using Tally 9 SDK.
The customer was originally using HMS (hospital management system) software. They used to enter daily transactions in the HMS and entries would be stored in the MS Access database.
They were also using Tally9 for accounting needs and it was a cumbersome task to make entries in Tally9 similar to those in the HMS. The user had to originally grapple with the problem of entering a huge number of receipts, bills, Invoices, IPF in the system without the aid of any customized interface.
An interface was required to link HMS with Tally from where they could read data from HMS (software) and post it in to Tally9.

Leap Year 2008 comes to an end – an eventful, tumultuous year in which all hell broke loose- a year many of us would like to erase from our memories but a year which historians would not allow us to forget.
As I try and recollect the important events of 2008 the following flash in my mind:
It was a year in which BSE Sensex scaled 21000 and also came below 8000.
It was a year in which crude touched US$ 150/barrel & then fell to US $ 30/barrel
It was a year in which financial heroes turned to zeroes. Institutions like Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs, AIG, Bear Sterns, Merrill were forced to bite the dust with many collapsing like pack of cards.
It was a year in which credit/ economic crises gripped the world and USA went on an casino great britain over-drive of nationalizing the key industries.
It was a year in which Fed Reserve and Bank of Japan cut interest rate to zero.
It was a year in which USA for the first time in their history elected an Afro-American as the President.
It was a year in which China hosted the Olympics and also faced one of the worst earthquakes.
It was a year in which Bindra won the first individual gold medal in Olympics and did India proud. It was also the year in which Dhoni & his team had a dream run in Cricket.
It was an year in which India faced terrorist attacks in cities like Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Delhi culminating in the worst form of terror attack in Mumbai with Tajmahal & Oberoi – two landmark hotels of Mumbai being under seize leading to several innocent lives being lost.
It was a year in which the sight of smoke billowing from the tower of Tajmahal Palace Hotel telecast continuously for 60 hours by the Indian electronic media aroused the educated & elite from their slumber and they cried in unison: “enough is enough”!
It was a year in which another Indian beauty came close to winning the coveted Miss World title.
It was a year in which an Indian spaceship landed on the moon.
It was a year in which Singh became the king – whether it was Manmohan, Jaspal, Yuvraj , Harbhajan or Akshay Kumar.
With 2008 behind us, let us welcome 2009 with open arms with new hope for a better world & better times ahead!

In our previous blogs we have read about Tally Software Development kit here after known as SDK, and its core functions, now I will take you through some of it’s technical aspects, and make you more friendly with it and many of the further blogs will help you to know the internals of tally sdk and take you to a way how you can simplify integrating it in your applications.

The most difficult and expensive task in terms of money as well as time in tally is to get Tally’s interface customized as per ease of usability.TallySDK allows you to perform an optional task for customizations of Tally API’s which is done using TDL. TallySDK allows you to create your own interface modules and integrate those with Tally using features provided in TallySDK. Samples will be provided in future blogs to guide you on integrating SDK to your application.
TallySDK is an Application Programmable Interface (API) which allows to transfers data from Tally Accountancy Software to other data stores like MS Access, Oracle, MySQL, FoxPro, DB2 Universal database etc. and vice versa through collection of programmable interfaces.TallySDK uses a completely .NET CLR compliant object heirarchy to represents entities in tally which you can use in your application giving you a feel as if you are working with tally itself.
TallySDK talks with Tally using a SOAP based protocol and in real time and it requires tally server to be running in background to operate sucessfully.

More About TallySdk
People will want and indeed expect their software to integrate with the different version of Tally. The need over the last few years has helped us build and upgrade and create an application which will help developers easily integrate with tally various software’s built in other development languages.
The tally Software Developer’s Kit (SDK) allows developers to easily and seamlessly develop additional modules, front-ends and specialist imports and exports for Tally Accounting software.
Using the SDK, a developer can for example, create a specialized invoicing screen for a particular vertical market, and simply send the information to the SDK. The SDK will perform all the validations as if it was a normal Tally invoice, and update all the relevant Tally Data files. (Tally has to be running in the background) Using the SDK therefore ensures that the integrity of the data is maintained.
The Tally SDK will be used within an ActiveX compliant programming environment. Typical examples of such programming environments are the latest versions of Microsoft C++, Clarion, Delphi, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visual Basic. A practical programming knowledge of these development languages will be a pre-requisite when using the SDK
